Default Lower Radiator Hose

Any one with a mid'97-99 disco1 that has priced a lower hose(with AEL) knows how pricey they are.

I just picked one up from rockauto. $30.

No, I don't have it in hand yet, coming tomorow(friday). Go figure, I live in NY, Their coming from Cali. I'll let ya'll know if it is indeed the correct one. I also ordered the upper hose from them also, $7

Yes, once these are done, that will be all new hoses. Even replace the small ones going to the TB. And along with the new serpentine and idler pully, I hope I will be set for a while.

Well, I got my hoses today, and put them on when I did the fan clutch.

The lower hose is ok, guess like a $30 hose. The end that goes on the radiator and the two smaller hoses fit fine, but the end that went to the block or pump or whatever it goes to, was a tight fit on. Looks too tight to me. But it works.

Ditto - out of a dozen times, only one nightmare, but the wrong brakepads for my DI actually were the right ones for my p38, so it all worked out.

That price is so good on the hoses, I'm scared or amazed - my lower looks fine, but old.
(like me, LOL)

luck,greg

Well, I dug up this old thread about my $30 lower hose because it blew on me today. Split just next to the joint where one of the smaller hoses branches off.

It made it just over a year.

Cheap hoses do that, then you got the hassle of doing it again. My early 97 looks like it is probably the original lower hose, I replaced the heater hoses, top hose looks good, but I plan to work my way thru the entire cooling system one good time pretty soon. I am just now getting it all cleaned up and takong a very close look at it all.

Any tips or suggestions very much welcomed. Especially if you have a first hand been there done that but do not do this kind of info to share.
