I would have mounted those lights on the grill. They look unprotected out there on the bumper.
Does it run any cooler?

Thanks for posting the kind you used. I went to do this before but couldn't find anything.. I found this HUGE 4x8 mesh stuff [whats that for] but never though to look at the gutter section.

I got everything taped up and im at a standstill. I figured I would macgyver something but can't figure out anything that will work to cut it like a grinder which I dont have.

Is this the mesh stuff you are talking about?

Where did you find the 4x8 sheet of it?

I think the 4x8 sheet he was talking about was tile backer board at lowes, It is very easy to bend and the pattern isn't strait

no You can buy that at lowes too but its too large off a mesh, thats the stuff people use for trailer tail gates and stuff
The actual saudi grill is wires woven into a square pattern, but its not just strait wire every peice is zig-zaged.http://www.dap-inc.com/acc/app/new/index.shtml
this isn't close enough to see the zig-zags but you get the idea

I thought about it, maybe later, keep in mind this went from "I'm bored" to "I have an idea" to "done" in about 5 hours. the temp gauge looks like it might be sitting a hair lower

Yea the tile stuff was probably it.

The wire mesh I WANT to use is this.

And as for the temperature I'll let you guys know what my scangauge says, however looking at the grill off the vehicle it does seem to get a good bit of airflow.

I went to a sheet metal place and got some stainless steel mesh for another 4x4. You might want to check a place like that out.

just wanted to say this agian..

GLUING IS THE WORSE PART OF THIS MOD.

seriously I thought it would take a good hour to complete. Im waiting for the fricken glue to dry, I got the loctite 5min stuff.. More like 5 hours.. Its still fricken wet, however places where i didn't want it to go it dried INSTANTLY... Oh and I still have no idea how you got tape to hold it down.

Spencerfitch Aug 5, 2010 01:34 AM

seriously 7 hours later its still not dried in some spots and is lifting..

I need to find some better glue..

Ill never buy loc tite agian
