Default Mounting Winch Power Box

Hello Good People,

Where are mounting your winch power box- the box that connects to the winch and to the car battery?

A visual image would be super duper!

What kind of solenoids are inside the box? If its a single contactor you can ditch the box and mount it behind the grill.

I mounted the box onto the winch backwards. I was trying not to cut into the grill but right now I dont like all the wires showing like that.

They are a common size but to be sure just measure the distance between the mounting holes, i think from memory its 10 ".

Actually, a proper roller fairlead is BETTER for synthetic cable than a hawse. The problem is most roller fairleads leave too big a gap in the corners or are already chewed up from steel cable. The roller fairlead in the OP's pics appears to be specially designed for synthetic line and looks brand new.

A lot of people go with a hawse over roller simply for aesthetics or so it doesn't stick out so far.

Well I certainly dont want a chewed rope. So should I go with a hawse fairlead or am I good with the roller. I'd rather do this correctly the first time.

Thanks
