Default new toy!!!

well I had to go out and pick up a D1 so I can come over here in the D1 section and harass spike It's a '96 with only 109K miles but it's been wheeled hard. Started home and schrader valve on the fuel rail was leaking...no prob..stopped by a tire shop and got a valve and borrowed a tool...then it died at a intersection and wouldn't start back up..didn't hear fuel pump running..it does not have the OE fuel pump the PO put in one out of a chevy impala..connection needed cleaning and adjusted..fired up got it home..btw love the easy fuel pump access in the rear..every vehicle should be like that..so far i'm really liking it but it needs work and i've got a few questions

1. a/c needs charging, i cant find a sticker is it R12 or R134a?

2. windows don't work sometimes..PO said the control module in the dash needs to be re-soldered...anybody did this before?

NICE!!!
How much did you get it for?
Looks like it was a tour truck of some kind?
It has the same tires as mine.

All cars from '95 on were required to use R-134.
Some pre '95's have R-134.
Yes, the window lift ecu needs to be re-soldered, easy 15 min DIY.
The window lift ecu is behind the glove box.

spike, I got it for $2,150. you can't tell from those pics but it has a heavy duty bumper in the rear. Yeah it was some business that did team building classes (www.teamrover.com). I didn't buy it from them, bought it from a guy in chattanooga. I have a set of 33x12.50 sumper swampers that I can probably fit on it with some trimming but I'm worried about the rear diff...I'm thinking about welding the carrier and see what it does..if it expoldes then i'll have to get a locker.

$2150?
SD roof rack-$600
Steel rims-$100
ARB winch bumper-$400
HD rear bumper-$100
Rock sliders-$100
(used prices)

My point is you got one hell of a deal.

Neat, know where you can get a donor 1996 for round $1,000.00 It is in Aiken S.C. I was buying it for my project but bought the RR instead.

That is something that you can REALLY talk about, love cars with a story.

exactly!...I couldn't lift my DII, put a winch bumper and rack on it for what I paid for this D1..it was a no brainer

georgep, there are some D1s around here being parted out. I can get anything I need from them..going to start a list of what all I need tomorrow.
