Default oil pressure light flicker

So I took my truck out for a short drive and I started having my oil light flicker. I have changed my oil pump cleaned pick up and sump. I'm thinking the next move is my main bearings. Is there a way to do this without removing the main from the truck and taking apart the timing cover?

I think you could do bearings with the engine in if you are careful
Have you tried the oil sender?

I am using 5w30 Quaker state Dino cause of the cold and my oil lite is on like 3 seconds? Cold start in the morning

That's a good question. 15w-50 or 20w-50 is my oil of choice, have seen and read of other flickers going away by ditching thin oils.

Too thin. Since your location is not expected to go below 32F generally I'd go with Shell Rotella 15W40 and you should see that flicker disappear. Before you swap it do an oil flush. Add flush to motor, run five minutes, turn off and let sit for an hour, restart, run for five and shut off and change oil with filter. Your top end is probably the culprit and not the bottom although new shells never hurts a Rover crank, they're probably down to copper anyways.

D1 oil recommendations from Workshop attached, API suggested minimum temps about 10 F lower than LRs. I've used 20w-50 year-round for years even when residing further north than NC.

If a heavier weight oil and/or OP switch don't eliminate the flicker you might want to think bearings.

Uh, huh...... been around long? Almost everyone on this forum uses Rotella....... no complaints thus far in oh five years. We all can read the Rover recommendations. 20W50 is too thick unless your running wide open in the Gobi Desert...... ZDDP is what we're after besides better than decent cleaning agents in diesel oil. I got em covered.

15x40wt see if it helps.
of course checking your pressure with a gauge would be best
