I'd like Treadwrights on my Disco, but I'm looking at 215/85s and 235/85s. Problem is the crawler tread is hugely aggressive (compare lug count to any conventional MT) and probably horrid on ice, whereas the Axiom looks much too tame for my tastes. And of course those are my only two options. For that reason, I'll probably end up buying Firestone Destination MTs or BF Goodrich KM2s.

Why not get 245 75 16? Guard is really an aggressive all terrain that gives u best of both worlds

I guess that's an option. I just want to be absolutely sure they are skinny enough to tuck without rubbing, which my current 265s are not. I also don't want to lose any ground clearance, hence 235/85 being my first choice.

I don't have many pics, I've never even washed the thing since I bought it. I've spent all my time getting the mechanicals in order. I can see where there was some body damage from the tire lugs, apparently the PO wheeled it pretty hard. I roughly straightened the bent parts (behind the rear wheels) and went and flexed it on some snow banks. Couldn't get it to rub, but I'm still suspicious due to the body damage. I will take pics eventually, and I will do a more thorough flex test before I replace the 265s. However I don't want to trim much and my inclination is that they are too wide. I also wonder if I could get slightly better fuel economy on 235s.

This was when I first got it, I've since reinstalled the rear bumper end caps (which had fallen off). There are obviously still a few cosmetic flaws I will eventually iron out, but maintenance and repairs come first in my book. I'm suspecting I may need an extra 1/2" over-the-top spacer in the front, or simply some trimming, because the front bumper end caps are loose and misaligned, suggesting tire contact. I believe my OME springs are +1.5" front, +2" rear. I know the rears are 762s, but I'm not sure about the fronts.

LOL, the words "off road performance" triggered a hotlink ad for the 2011 Jeep Compass. On a Rover forum nonetheless. 110% FAILURE at targeted advertising...
