parts truck
I have the opportunity to get a parts truck from my dads friend who is moving and can't take it. It is a 1995 and I have a 1998. I know the 95 has a 3.9L in it, but is that the same block as my 4.0L? Other than that everything else is the same right?
Thanks.
Thanks.
some one else will chime in here who knows more differences, but theres more then you'd think, interior, the power window design is completely different and imo more work then worth to retrofit, seats mount up different, tail lights are different (can change over though, you punch out a blank and they ttake the same bulbs, imo they look better since there all red.) theres a few more but off the top of my head i cant remember, it seamed everything i needed when the junk yard had half off i couldnt use because of differences haha.

The blocks are trhe same, of course it has a distributor and points and a different intake. The driveline will all fit. Just think, spare transfer case, differentials, starter and I think the alternator possibly. Plus all the body panels. You could refresh anything that needs it and have replacements ready if you a problem with yours assuming it is the DI.
Electronics would be different.
Depending on where you live, the 95 may be emissions exempt, it would be in PA. It may be worth getting the title and see what it needs to be roadworthy.

Cool thank you, I'll find more about what is wrong with the truck cause i know nothing about it. The only thing I know is he got it from a salvage auction so I'm sure its far from road worthy. But where I live everything is emissions exempt, for now at least.
There is more compatible than you think.
Except for the engine the entire driveline, all body panels, all lights and rims, window regulators, switches, glass, mirrors...all interchangeable.
