Premium Gasoline? Oopppse
*** Well WTF?*** EDIT**** this Seafoam Induction Procedure - LAND ROVER Club V.I. used to be in there anyway. Spike, Mike or to whom it may concern, since this is a popular question can it be added with its own link instead of burried somewhere...please.
I try to stick to the major name brands like Shell super premium 93 octane or Sunoco 93 octane. Even at 30 cent a gallon more than 87 octane it does not amont to all that much in a tankful. I'd ratrher put in less 93 octane than more 87 octane for the same cash price. Suit yourself dude.
how about the opposite question. is there such a thing as too super of super unleaded? im remembering the clark station (do any of those still exist) in winthrop harbor illinois that sold i think 104 octane "racing fuel" 15 years ago it was 2 bucks a gallon. id hate to see what it is now if that place still sells it. and i wonder if it would work better than the type r sticker im planning on putting on my fender lol
I have from new a 93 range rover, a 96 discovery and a 2010 range rover... I only use premium fuel... I was told by my service tech that this will help with the longevity of my vehicles..... so far so good... I still have all three vehicles ( 93 RR with 198,000 miles, 96 Dico with 68, 823 miles and 2010 RR with 23,000 miles... Frequent oil changes, and Good fuel are a MUST with these vehicles... I hear horror stories every day from people who skimp on maintence and pay for it later... just don't do it...

It was leaded, so it would be very bad on any car with a cat. Also, since higher octane fuel ignites more slowly, if you were to put it in a standard low compression engine, you might actually get reduced power. higher octane fuel is usually SLIGHTLY more dense, so you might get more MPG, like .5, but at 3x the price, it's probably not worth it
