there are no cons.... hahah...only con is..if your not mechanically incline..repair places will rape you on repairs since its a land rover...but its actually easier to work on that most vehicles out there

pros- no more spare time or extra cash laying around

cons- having to wait for parts to arrive

well im pretty mechanically inclined but im still in the dark about land rovers. i wanna build the 4.0 in the truck up a lil bit but idk if i can buy buick V8 performance parts and fit them since its the same tooling as the 215 buick V8

I personally think that you would be better off throwing a SBC in there instead of 'trying' to build up the 4.0. A lot cheaper in the long run. Others may disagree, but you have to do the math yourself. Download the RAVE and read up. They are not difficult, just special.:D

The easiest way to get a little more power is to go get a 4.6L rover v8 out of a GEMS P38 Range Rover. It's still not going to be very fast though.

will the sbc bolt up to the ZF auto tranny or would i have to go with a TH400 and a NP205 combo

chasej318 04-22-2011 10:48 AM

i also thought about just doing without the auto tranny and going with a 5 speed, but i haven't found a 5 speed for a suitable price nor have i found pedal assemblies and a console for that type of truck
