IMO we need a major overhaul of our society and government programs. You have more social advantages by being on welfare than working at minimum wage because you have a free medical insurance (for medecine), free dental care and so on.... We have way too many governmental programs and agencies. And healthcare system is too heavy and costs too much. There are more pencil pushers than doctors and nurses.

On a side note.... gas is fairly cheap right now 1.03$/L which is approximately 4.67$US/gal. I have seen 1.40$/L

Thanks all for good advices on plugs and on oil. I think I'll swap back to dino oil with Rotella.

I bought the Bosch Platinum Plus for about 3 bucks each at advanced auto. They are doing fine, but I agree that there is no need to spend much on spark plugs for these.

Jull, winter is coming, use Rotella 5w-40 for the winter then switch back to the 15w-40 for the summer.

Thanks Spike. I'll check if I can get my hands on Rotella 5w40. Not every brand is available in every grade where I shop.

Mobil Delvo and Castrol Tectra are also good choices.

I cleared the codes yesterday and I got 2 o2 codes P0152 and P1193, along with the infamous P1317. P0152 and P1193 explain the rough idle.

Anyways, probably some of the plugs are fouled, at least I hope so. The O2 sensors are 6 months old, that's why I'm leaning towards foul plugs.

90% of O2 codes on a Disco are due to bad/weak spark.

Finally managed to get to work on the truck. That wasn't easy with school and work to be done on my house.

I changed the plugs for Champion copper, gapped them at .033, cleaned the throttle body and it idles way better thant it did. My old Bosh were definitely fouled. And the check engine hasn't come back yet.

I also went around all the bushings and checked/retorqued everything. Scary thing: I found out that one of the swivel was coming off the differential. And now the truck wanders less and the steering feels much tighter, though I know pre-load isn't set right and most of the bushings are starting to show some wear. Don't worry all of those repairs are in the agenda

Default +4s CHEAP!!

I just bought an '02 Disco 2 and am working through "The List." I did some shopping and got a set of +4s for $30.43, including shipping.

Cheapest I found were at www.rockauto.com. Then used a coupon code from retailmenot.com. The icing was the mail-in rebate from Bosch for $1 per plug.

If anybody's looking to change 'em out, this is a pretty good price!

FWIW...I used to use the platinum plugs and swore by them, With my DI I have spent more time swearing AT them. I've since switched back to cheap champions (RN11YC4) and have noticed no loss in mileage or performance, but they seem to be more reliable.
I'm using Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic and likin' it.
