Default Question about British Starter's starter

Seriously thinking about buying one but wondering if the heat shield fits or is it unnecessary with this starter?
Thanks
John

Dave from British Starters was kind enough to email me back this evening with an answer to my question.

Hi John,
It can be used, but is not necessary. Our starter dissipates heat better than the OEM starter. Our starter is physically smaller than the outgoing one, so you will have more room during the install too.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best Regards,

Dave

Good to know. That area is pretty tight as is. Has anyone used these? Is it worth the cost?

Pretty sure Tom(AntiChrist) is a big British Starters fan.

I have one, and I love it (British Starters). It's good to hear about the heat shield too. I sorta said the h@ll with it anyway, what a PITA.

I also have one. It's been great. Unfortunately the prop-shaft hit my first one. They honored the lifetime warranty and replaced it. I adjusted the new starter further away from the prop-shaft and have had no issues since.
