Well Damn!

That's helpful, thanks!

that's great.

now what do we do with those exposed lugs. do we try and fill them? brush them, paint them?

edit: i've been looking for solids everywhere but they are ridiculously expensive. i wonder how this would look painted with painted black alloy wheels.

I guess you could fill the holes if you wanted to. It would be cool to weld a big knob on there to remove by hand!

I got several damaged ones here for both a DI and a DII, those are different sizes, but same stupid caps.

I recently saw some solids but don't recall the price.

Slang is there a machine shop you know of? They could take bar stock of a appropriate OD, cut it to length and thread it for you. I have seen in the Hot Rod magazines where they made custom nuts. You can get six sided bar stock.

I love how you put all these dirty parts all over your nice granite countertop. My wife would kill me. (if we had granite counter tops)

I would brush Anti-seize on the lugs. Particularly on the ends where exposed since the caps have been removed.
I guess I got lucky when I picked up my set of solid RRC lugs for $30 shipped. :)

The exposed nuts look fine to me. Less chrome is great in my book.

Antiseize is a good idea but mine were already coated on the inside.

Granite counters are awesome work spaces, just as long as SWMBO doesn't see (I hand her the kitten for distraction). Perfectly flat and everything just wipes off. Ideally I'd find a big slab for the garage.

Granite cleans up easily too.

Anybody on here got the ability to make some solid lug nuts?

Me too but they need to go with the alloy wheels...at least in my mind. And if I paint them black, maybe I paint the lugs too. I'm definitely taking the caps off because I sound like santas sleigh right now. jingling baby.

Nice on the $30 replacement. Can't find them anywhere at close to that so I'm doing this mod.

DL..I can have anything made, welded, etc....but this doesn't seem worth it to me. So many other things to do tooo.

The only reason I ask if anyone on here has that ability they could fab up a whole lot of them for other members at a reasonable price since they do sell really high. If you got the ability and such, it may be a worthwhile venture, but to do it individually would be outrageous.
