Default Radio Questions

Ok. While I am waiting for my POR -15 to arrive........I thought I would start tackling the radio.

I have a receiver/head with cassette in the dash. A six disc changer under the passenger seat an exposed wires in the very back where the PO remove what is told was an after market amplifier.

No sound. The receiver/head and cd changer both get power. Radio stations are programed, cd change and if you turn the volume all the way up you can barely hear what is playing.

There are two very large wires (red and black) in the very back that have been cut. They run all the way to the battery (fused). A smaller blue wire (20AWG maybe) and some speaker wire.

First question, is the consider the "High Line" system in the Rave?

Why would the missing amp in the back prevent the rest of the system/speakers from working?

Will an inexpensive after market amp work? Or am I looking at starting from scratch?

Thanks

RS

Sounds like the rear amplifier speaker was removed? I have the one from my 97 available cheap if that would help you.

I gutted mine totally and have a few aftermarket units in the garage that my sons have had in various vehicles. I figure one day I will start from scratch and see if any of trhose are worth putting in.
