rear diff question
Why is it that on Jackstands rear up front on the ground I can spin the rear.
Both tires spin, so it shouldnt be a shaft issue. BUT the DS doesnt spin.. I have my ideas but being new to rovers( NOT TO $WD THOUGH) I figure maybe Im missing something. In all other experiences, this would be a bad thing..

This is perfectly normal for a open diff.
If you were to spin the drive shaft the wheels would spin, but the wheels wont spin the drive shaft.
Go to the tech section and watch the video on how a diff works.

Yeah, these Discoveries are full of surprises. That is why they call them a Discovery. Everytime you start to do something you think you are familar with, you make a suddden "Discovery".
Hope you have a good "Recovery".

I dont wheel the Rover on the good stuff, have a 1 ton caged Cherokee for that.. The lifted rover is a fireroad to mid blues.. I picked it up so I had something to play with on the lighter stuff.. Sold a stout as hell Land cruiser truggy and picked up this on the cheap.
