Default Replacing the fuel filter, And checking pressure.

So i recently found out on another thread of mine, That mid-grade fuel is a no-no in discos. So i want to check my fuel pressure to see if thats what is causing my rover to idle weird at start up.

How do you check fuel pressure on a Disco 1

And is the fuel filters Inline or is it in the tank?

Any special instructions needed for replacing a fuel filter in a d1?

Your filter is in-line up next to the frame in the r/r wheel. Use lots of penetrating fluid.
There is a schrader valve on the fuel rail that you can hook a fuel pressure gauge to.
Start with the filter and a couple of tanks of good gas and some gas additive.

Like Mike said, start with the easy. Add a can of Seafoam to your next fill of premium fuel, wait a couple weeks and do it again. I have a 9 mile drive across town to get to work and can I feel a big difference by the time I get to work.

Any tips on trying to remove a fuel filter that is rusted on? Thing won't budge...

common problem. mine wouldn't budge. but i found this stuff at my local auto parts store. it's called B'laster PB Penetrating Catalyst. After i hit it with this stuff, i could loosen it with my fingers. no joke.

Seafoam? Hmm and i put it in the gas tank, Just like an additive? Filled up tonight with Premium at shell, Hopefully i didnt do much damage by using crappy fuel! Would this explain my 8MPG-10MPG tanks?

yeah bad gas = bad gas mileage. What I do with the Seafoam is put it in before I fill the tank so it will mix better. Just did it with my brothers 1976 Dodge M880 (46k miles) and it made it run like the new truck it is.

Personally I think you have something else going on if you are only getting that low MPG. Don't think it will change just by switching to the premium. But that's what you have to use in any case.

Im getting around 250miles on a full tank and disco tanks are what? 22? 23? gallons? you do the math lol
