replacing the re-circulation switch and the A/C switch
1997 Discovery SD (I purchased it new in 1997)
Hi - I'm looking for the "tips and tricks" to replacing the re-circulation switch and the A/C switch in the A/C control unit (in the dash) - - Also, where can I get these new switches? Both of mine have failed - I don't plan to spend $500.00 on the new complete assembly. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...c47f82830e.jpg |
I ordered both switches new from brit-car.co.uk on advice from slickwilly1976. It only took a little over a week to receive them. I think they were around $15 USD each plus shipping.

Does your blower switch work in all four positions?
|
You need to pull the entire console to get the switches out. There is a small clip you must release from the rear of the switch. I recently pulled mine to change the small bulbs in the switches.

Yes - all four positions on the blower switch work -
Most of the switches behind steering wheel didn't work when I got it. I took them apart and cleaned the wee contacts in them. Takes time and a good pair of glasses. |
