Now for the problems to diagnose..
Not while there but after I got back I have a really harsh shift when decelerating and then touching the gas pedal again.
Have a CEL with code 48 which I have cleared twice and keeps coming back.
Also have some trail damage to share after I take some pics.

What kinda set up are you running? lift/tires etc?. How did you feel the disco performed?. That pic of that toyota truck looks like its a pretty capable rig, did you feel like the disco could mostly hang with rigs like that?. Do you think any body damage you incurred would have been avoided had you had more ground/body/chassis clearance?. People always say a disco doesnt need anymore than 2-3" of lift, but I think (to an extent) more clearance doesnt hurt!> Then again you run into COG issues the higher you go............then with more lift and clearance you are sooooo tempted to run bigger tires which opens a whole new can of worms..................

No lift. Stock suspension although it is thouroughly done after this trip. Planning on lifting it with a terra firma 2" medium or possibly heavy duty lift after seeing how it performed. Tires are 245 75 16 BFG MT KM2.
Unbefrickenlievable when you consider it towed my pop up out to moab, 4 wheeled for 5 hard days and got me back. I am still running the rotoflex joint but when I add the lift I am going ujoint in the rear. Just want something a little more solid back there.
If you mean the toyota pick up, no.. it cannot hang with that. It is a frankenstein built for hardcore rock crawling. Not my type of 4 wheeling. I like adventure not boulder smashing.
YES! I desperately wanted a lift on many different areas. Moab difficult trails like elephant hill, top of the world, and fins n things have very tight clearances. I hit the rear the most. That fat *** is hard to get clearance on. Hence the reason I am thinking heavy duty now instead of medium duty. When you go off a drop off you want the suspension to stick not absorb.
2-3" will suffice. Only thing I never considered is my rig loaded with hi lift jack and hi lift winch kit, tools, and all the other ameneties with a family you need. Again.. heavy duty is the way to go here. Colorado and Utah have alot of rocks and steep inclines. Esp if you do alot of the difficult runs as I have.
