Or you could get a roof rack with flooring to shade the top. You could even get or paint reflective flooring.

the 1/4 inch foam/foil insulation worked great for the floors. i'll probably go that route. gonna patch, rustproof and paint roof. then maybe spray over....soon.

Some of the most beautiful cars ever made were classic two tones, the possibilities are endless.
Slang, did you cure the problem with the middle floorboard getting hot? |

Or you could have a Union Jack....
|
I would like the Union Jack but i think it would look best on the hood.
Ultimate is a Zebra Motif with Black and Gold Steelers Nation colors or White and Gold like their road jerseys. |
A different colored roof fits a defender better...

Two tone in the right combination works. The original pictured D2 not so much. The white Disco's with various parts blacked out look good. Silver and black work also. My D1's (green) roof and hood are toast........I took it to a local indy, basically a guy working out of his garage and he wants $1,000-$1,200 to repaint. I considering doing the roof in black "Grizzly Grip". Basically a fine truck bed liner. No going back if I go that route. |
I have seen Green Disco's with a white or off white roof that look good. If you do a rough texture on the top, it will increase drag, may not seem like much but on a long trip you may notice less mpg's.
Or copy some of the classic RR two tones. Or early Jag Saloons. |
