Angry Sensor ring

I cannot remove the sensor rings from my old rotors, now I cannot find the sensor rings on line to order them. Do they have a different name? Where, how do I look for them? Yeah, I know I can wait until Monday and ask someone on the phone and keep my car on jacks for a week.... Any help will be appreciated.

Are you talking about the exciter ring that the ABS sensor gets its reading from?
They are part of the rotor, your new rotors will have them forged into it.

The ABS ring is removable, not built into the rotor. You will want to find used ones,if you can not get them out,(e-bay or roverguy.com), as new ones are VERY expensive.

BTW, I assume you know there are 5 locknuts holding it on? On the face of the rotor, facing the hub assembly.

I had no idea of the cost, anyone want to buy 4 used ones?

I saw those three Rovers, could not believe them screwing them up like they did, what a shame.

I just did that job this morning, putting new rotors and calipers on the back. The nuts were just lumps of corrosion, nothing even to grab on to, really. I zipped them off with a cutting wheel, and unscrewed what was left of the studs out of the exciter with vice grips - actually could have used channel locks, they came out easy. $6 at lowes for new studs and nuts, fairly easy all around.

I had a '98(pre-independent rear susp.) One of the most reliable cars I've owned. Only thing that ever went wrong was the timing belt broke. But I probably was past the change interval.

Plusit fit 32" tires with only a little torsion bar crank.
