Default Should I buy this? DiscoI fixxer upper.

I found a 95' Discovery I on craigslist. I called the guy last night to chat about it. The story is that its got about 105,000mi on it, it was driven into a small ditch, the drivers side headlight and fender are missing, and the shift cable from the shifter to the transmission got tangled up so it won't shift from the lever. They tell me it runs and drives if you go under the car and shift it into "drive" while the car is on.

The man walked around it while I was on the phone and told me that there's not a spec of rust on the body and the interior is fairly clean. (no rust for a car that is in Iowa impresses the hell out of me). He did tell me it would be a "big fixxer upper". I've got a pretty good background in working on vehicles (I've been doing quite a bit of wrenching for the past 6 years), just never worked on a land rover before...

They are only asking $350 FIRM for it, anyone think it would be worth the trouble?

Thank you in advance for all of you're advice!

If nothing else you just bought a butt load of parts for really, really cheap. Go for it.

That's what I wanted to hear! I didn't think I would own a Land Rover this soon, but here I come fellas! Going to pick it up in a few minutes, might be putting her on a trailer not sure yet. He just mentioned it had an oil cooler line that was leaking :/ hopefully nothing else is messed up. If its just a cooler line it should be easy to fix

Here in Montreal for 350$ you can't buy even used tires for your truck.Don't think to long ,or somebody else will buy it for that price and you will fell sorry.

I got her home fellas I'm super excited about this project and I don't even really know why. It was a big more haggard than the guy explained it. 105,000miles ended up being 160,000miles. Missing one rim, so the spare is on it. He told me the hood and bumper were fine, but they are both bent up. She's got a few leaks and grime underneath. AC doesn't work. Turn signals don't work either. She runs like a champ though, shifts great too! The thing just feels like a tank driving down the road, I love it haha! I think it would have made the hour long drive home, but I didn't want to risk it so we put it on my buddies flat bed. I can't wait to get to work on it.

I'll get some pictures of it up tomorrow when its light out

Thanks everyone,

Ethan
