Default Steel Wheel lug nuts versus Alloy wheel lugs nuts?

OK guys...quick question... I switched my wife's '96 D1 over to steel wheels a year or two ago. Later, I acquired a set of alloy wheels that have a decent set of MT tires on them.

I know, it won't be pretty, but I'm wheeling the D1 tomorrow and need to know whether anyone can confirm whether I can use the lug nuts from my steel wheels?

No, you cannot use lug nuts for steel wheels on alloys. You can use lug nuts for alloys on steel wheels.

Thanks for the quick response Tom. That's what I was afraid of. I guess I have to go dig in my tool shed for my old lug nuts then.
