Stumbling and misfire after automatic car wash
I usually hand wash the Disco at home, but I opened a new restaurant/bar recently and I'm spending all my time there these days so I ran old Indy through an automatic car wash. Upon exiting and accelerating into traffic, it was stumbling, misfiring, and seemed to be at around half power. After a mile or so everything returned to normal.
No dash light and Torque recorded no fault codes.
Is this a sign of a sensor going bad? I'd rather get ahead of this and correct it now to avoid being stranded on the roadside.
The crankshaft position sensor was replaced around a year ago. The o2 sensors are, I believe, the originals.
My daughter's 2016 Mazda CX-5 had a similar issue last year where the check engine light would illuminate only when we had rain or after snow melt. I replaced the o2 sensor (wires were frayed) and it's been perfect ever since.

An automatic car wash will fire hose water all up int the engine area. For a 20+ year old DI, this is a bad idea. The pressure will easily loosen or disconnect altogether a wire, etc. Most of the rubber gaskets, seals are cracked or rotted and cannot keep water out, causing a short or malfunction. I would avoid car washes.
