swivel ball removal

I'm developing a slight death wobble (caused by a worn lower swivel bearing) which has got me thinking about rebiulding the swivel and resealing it. I'm acctually considering changing the whole axle for one at the pick n pull if i can find a decent one that aint leaking, mine has some play in the diff also. but anyway my thought was why couldn't someone pull the whole end of the axle off from where the swivel ball bolts to the axle housing, for example if you wanted the change the swivel ball gasket without tearing the whole hub and stub axle apart, the cv just slips off the axle shaft right? in my case this wouldn't help but you know how one thought leads to another.

It weighs a ton but by all means you can pull the hub, rotor, swivel housing, spindle, swivel ball, cv and axle by removing the bolts securing everything to the axle casing. Everything will be very unwieldy and well over 100lbs.

Cool good to know, like I said it won't help me in my situation but if someone wanted to change the swivel seal without having to tear it all down, I imagine it could be done with a floor jack and a couple guys
