Terrafirma build.......Part 3......Steering Damper
Justin and I talked about it. We both at first said...nah...don't need it. Then when you see how big the TF Damper is, you want that thing as far up as possible. Yeah, I went with Tyler to encourage his business. I know it will hold up.
Can you shoot me some pics....

Also, I'm an idiot. This is a Qt mounting block that came with the Qt bars and such. (Also, ignore the sh*tty black damper in the photo, it's older. I too have a TF on there now)

I am not really a fan of either..
I would try to get either HLC or RTE parts.. The terrafirma and qt brackets except the one wolf posted are crap, The one I had was a U-bolt style and it was stupid.. I have a D-90 RTC Terrafirma Damper now but I used to have the pin D1 style
The HLC bar mount. Obviously overkill but.. awesome

Frame mount from RTE with two bolt holes..

And the old RTE Pin style bar clamp. I am giving this one to a buddy but I got it from Justin a while ago. If it doesnt work on my buddie truck I would entertain selling it to you...

I just like the clamp style better I suppose.. To each their own..
And I dont think your damper is extended far enough when your wheels are straight a head. Do an extended and compressed measurement and make sure it's in the middle of that or you'll be bottoming it out when you turn left.

The first two pics of the damper are at center. The last is at full left turn.
I like that clamp style.....let me know....

I will let you know about clamp. I may offer to make him one that will fit stock rod size so we dont have to ghetto rig it.
I have the galvanized double ubolt bracket that came with the rods, trade? It is a hefty piece...
Just went though the RTE website....
Why did I go there....now I added a few more things to the list. I will definitely plan to make some addition modifications to the suspension in the near future. I see the benefit of the suspension changes between the DII and DI....

Thanks again!
Its easy. Compress the damper and measure. Extend the damper and measure. Add the measurements and divide by two. Compress the damper to that length and mark it with a sharpie at the end of the outer sleeve. With wheels.straight put the clamp on the drag link when the damper is compressed to the sharpie mark.
