Default testbook

anyone know where I can locate a test book? had some issues this week where I had to put it in the shop. In the future I'd like to be able to troubleshoot the hard stuff on my own instead of taking it to the dealer. any suggestions on where I can locate a test book or does anyone have 1 up for sale on the forum?

Test book would be ridiculously expensive. Like more than the cost of the car. A good alternative would probably be a blackbox-solutions nanocom. With the price of the Dollar versus the Euro, they are less than $500 shipped.

I'm thinking about buying one and selling my hawkeye to make some of my money back.

I thought the Hawkeye was better than the Nano?

Depends what you are using it for. The nano does almost EVERYTHING on a D2. The hawkeye is missing a couple of nice things like resyncing the computers and programming fobs without the barcode.

Nano doesn't work on LR3, but the hawkeye does. I'm not sure about GEMS or Lucas stuff. I know hawkeye works on them, if you pay for the code, and nano at least works on the GEMS P38, again if you buy that version.

There is allot of discussion on the brit sites about the T4 and bootleg copies. The connectors are getting hard to find in the UK let alone over here. It's a fairly old system too. Try looking for an Autologic by doing a google search. They are available and yes some are expensive but you can find them under 4 digits. While your searching if you come across something reasonable send me a PM. I'm in the market since I'm working on LR's on the side...... I've not needed one yet but with just resets I could make my money back.

By the way, what are you working on that you need the Testbook for?

$34,000 for a Test Book and a starting price of around $14,000 for the Autologic. Hawkeye is a great way to go as is a good mid range scanner around $140 if you know how to use one.
