Default Third Brake Light Not Fully Attached

Hey Guys - How do I / Can I fix this? The light is barely hanging on the back window. I shut the door (Slammed) and it fell down and is swing and still partily attached to the glass. Of course it's not working? Tempted to just completely remove it. Does the fix involve replacing the entire glass? How hard is this? I seen another in the junk yard a couple a weeks ago. I took the alternator just because I could not think of anything else to grab. Sorry - We are talking about a 1994 Disco.

I think the assembly comes off with 2 screws. Are you talking about the part glued to the glass? My rear light doesn't work, I covered it with a sticker and no one is the wiser.

Yes - I am guess that it might be glue. It looks as if each end that should be glued has brass tabs that I assume is suppose to touch the wire on the glass. With my luck - I'll take it down and it won't pass safety inspection in a few months. I know it won't pass just hang there.

There are lots of adhesives made for automotive glass purposes, I would try that.

DIY rearview mirror glue from the auto parts store.
