I like the perspective of the After the Mudhole photo.

what's the grade there? pictures are so hard to read sometimes... Like em all except one.

That Freelander 'Leading the Pack' isn't saying much for the difficulty

At our last FLRC rallye we had a Freelander and a LR3 (both totally stock) tag along on a nice long sweeping set of trails with mud holes. Some deep and soft clay mud and some shallow, long and packed sand. The Freelander had troubles with anything soft and muddy but the LR3 powered through everything.

Actually the guy in the Freelander works for the Power Company, it was their right of way that we used to connect one State Game Land road to another trail that leads to the pinnacle of the Laurel Mountains outside of Ligioner PA. He knows that trail the best as he flys over it in the Company Hellocopter.

He sold the Freelander to his nephew and now has both a Discovery and a recent Ex MOD Series he had shipped over from England to the Port of Baltimore. He's been driving Rovers for years. It was amazing how he got places in his Freelander. You should see him in his new MOD Series.

I had a LR3 sitting next to me in the parking lot. I know they seem to be pretty good off road but man the difference in ground clearance between the LR3 and D2 was shocking! How much lift do they get with the air?

My Discovery was actually "Dragging" on the worst of the rocks due to original springs which I since replaced wioth OME heavy duty 2 inch extended and new ProComp shocks. I have heard others complain about the ProComps but I have had no issues or complaints with mine.

Ok, was reading into it a bit. I was basically looking at how much light I saw underneath. I guess our diffs will always be the low point.
