bolt the shifter down and go from there, you need to be assembled before you can diagnose

I wondered if it needed to be grounded or something. The only thing about bolting it down is I know the TC linkage needs to be adjusted and I can't do it with the shifter bolted down.

which shifter are we talking about? had my cdl shifter out yesterday and only the h/l linkage for the tc is adjustable, I did not need to remove the main t handled auto trans shifter

I'm talking about the Auto trans shifter (only going into reverse). Sorry it's a bit confusing because I've had trouble out of both. The Auto trans shifter doesn't need to me adjusted but the transfer case does. If I install the auto shifter it will make it a PITA to adjust the TC shifter.

i would bolt down the auto trans shifter and see if it resolves the issue, be sure while everything is apart that you clean and grease all the parts and pivot pins in the tc linkage and tc shifter

Yes sir, did that already but I might slather a bit more on. That one part that hooks to the lever wants to bend easy. I might take it to my welder and get it reinforced.

Yes! finally some winage! It's pretty much road worthy. I just want to change some more fluids before I start rocking it.

IDK ever since I banged the shifter aganst the floor it's been working lol. I adjusted the TC shifer as far as I could and it poped out of gear on me once so I thought I would have to adjust more but it hasn't done it again. I think I just didn't have it in gear all the way the 1st time.

Mine is in pretty good shape. The top leaks a bit and there is a little rust under the back seat floor pan but just a little spot. Other than that it's in good shape.

Well I've been driving back and forth to work this week and it runs better and better the more I drive it (running fresh gas and injector cleaner). I've found out it smoothes out over 60 mph so at about 58 mph it vibrates some. Other than that it's pretty smooth. The brake light, two turn signals and two running lights weren't working. Turns out all but one didn't have a good connection so I glued a piece of sandpaper to the end of a pencil eraser, cleaned them up and put battery terminal lube on them. All work good now except for the one running light (needs bulb).
I need to find that vibration now.
