Default WABCO ANR5263 Rebuild ?

So for my 96 D1, after replacing 2 front calipers, brake pads, rotors, brake lines (have stainless now), master cylinder, brake booster, and rebuild back 2 caliper my brakes don't work like I think they should. They work "ok" but I would think I could lock them up on dry surface... Bled the system countless times of course. I'm also aware of how sluggish these brakes can be thanks to forum info. Only 2 other parts remain that I haven't touched.. Wabco ABS Unit and the abs pressure reducing valve.

I have searched high and low for a seal kit, or rebuild instructions for this ABS unit but no luck (there is one utube video that got me started). I have a spare that I dissembled and they aren't that complicated. This one was filled with gunk with I suspect mine is as well.. Most of the seals I should be able to track down I think.

So my Question... Anyone rebuilt one of these before ? Or already have the information on the seals required ? There appear to be no manuals on these older units that I can find. Don't want to bypass the ABS for obvious reasons..

thanks in advance !!

I would suspect the master cylinder. Aftermarket ones don't work as well all the time.

I've actually gone through 3.. all with same result. Original one I rebuilt.. ordered cheaper aftermarket one.. Then just gave up and ordered Lucas new one... Don't ask how much I've spent so far

I agree it is likely a garbage master cylinder.
Below is just my experience of aftermarket manufactures that work and dont:
Dorman
Cardone
Centric
AcDelco
Uro
Allmakes
OE
OEM parts
........ are all garbage aftermarket parts manufactures.
Beck/Arnley
Brembro
Sachs
Moog
Temken (bearings)
..... have worked correctly and fit correctly.

The one I used was Beck/Arnley.. it had Lucas Branding on it. and looked identical to my original.. Also was easy to bench bleed.

I think so.. no issues that I can tell. My brakes aren't spongy... nor are they hard/tight... Unless there is a little air trapped in the abs module that I can't get out, the system is bled well.. just not stopping as I think it should for all I replaced

First one I got form Rovah Farm lasted about a year, then I had to add fluid each time I drove it as the reservoir would leak down every night. Not a problem until you apply the brakes with an empty reservoir. Second one has lasted over a year so far...Also replaced 3 out of 4 calipers, new lines, pads etc. I don't even want to know how much I spent so far...

jimvw57, so after all you replaced did you feel you could lock the brakes up on dry ground ?

Only after I replaced brake lines and rear right caliper. I still tend to give the brakes a pump and then hold them on the second application. force of habit I guess. They will lock up solid but the truck stops so quick it doesn't slide on a locked up wheel.

I still have the ABS on the truck, but the fuse is pulled, dash light on and I don't plan on fixing it. Had trouble with it a few years ago and couldn't stop on a dry day so I disconnected it and never looked back.
