Default Weird Clanking Noise

This has been going on for a while.

It sounds like washers hitting each other..like rattling-metal sound when i hit bumps. its coming from the front.

My shocks are tight as they can be with new poly bush. New tie rods that are perfect.

New wheel bearings ( they are no movement in the wheel to indicate that its a bad wheel bearing)

What gives..its coming from the front for sure. Could it be the panhard bar?radius arm? its something that is definetaly a moving part thats making like a washer to washer hitting noise

When the front suspension gets muddy..the noise goes away but the dirt eventually leaves and the noise is back

No adverse steering or vibrations..just noise

My first guess would be sway bar bushings. Otherwise, are the dust shields tight in place?

I'd take a look at the panhard rod (or track bar - whatever you prefer to call it) bushings and the axle end of the radius arms. Use a small pry bar to wiggle/move the radius arms - if you have a busted bushing, you should see it this way.

What about your lug nuts, do you still have the original ones with the stupid chrome covers. Mine was making the same noise and I replaced them with "normal" ones and it took care of my noise.

I've been told they should have a little flex, but they should come back where they were before you started prying.

They're rubber, so there's going to be some movement. But if easily moves from side-to-side, then the rubber is likely torn or the rubber is very soft/worn out. It may be your problem.

I have the same problem, its quite annoying, Just changed the radius arm bushings, still there...Sooo thinkin that might narrow it down for ya a bit.
