It's not "Homemade" other than the paint.
They installed it to make sure everything was right for $325.
My bull bar also fits over the front.
Winch will be a little harder to mount, but if I can make a GMC motor push this truck down the road, a winch mount is "no hill for a stepper".

Never know you make a nice design that holds a winch and you could have a side jod b making do it yourself kits

The link they used 8" channel? Seems heavy ESP for no winch mount integrated

I would think on a plain bumper that steel plate bent to u shape would be just as good and lighter

Yes, 8" channel iron. It is pretty heavy, but not so much it caused any problem. I guess the idea behind the channel was to make it quick, easy and inexpensive. Definitely not the best looking bumper around, but it won't crumble on the first thing it contacts either. With the bull bar mounted, it looks a lot better. I'll get a new picture with it installed in a day or two.
If you're on a budget, $325 is hard to beat.

That was my old D2. Yeah, that bumper was stout, and if I wanted to add in a discrete winch in the future it could easily have been cut out. For the money, you can't beat it. If you have a decent metal shop nearby, I would talk to them first before spending $350 on a bunch of cut metal that needs assembly.

Yup would be nice if someone made rover bumper kits like for jeeps, made my front bumper, just need the 2 adapters for the rear of my frame to make the back bumper

heck I may make them.... thats a tall order I bet... lol as a hobby I make bicycle frames and have made a baja rack and just getting into this 4x4 add ons lol Im enshrined in metal fabricators including myself .. but they are always "busy" and I don't have a big shop so I can't produce anything quickly . I have a small MIG welder that would make this job pretty quick but Im lacking a proper bench for fast work and mandrel press and couple nick backs... with those Id be rolling! lol

I've swapped bumpers between DI and DII's multiple times. The finishers on the DII are just bigger so you typically need to trim them when installing a DI bumper. Or if you install a DII bumper you have more of a gap on the DI.

If you like the bumper it's probably not a bad deal. You could get the steel cheaper but, sometimes your time is worth more than the effort of having to cut all that with an angle grinder.

Personally I don't like the design, I prefer a slim line type bumper. Plus the lack of winch tray bothers me. I don't like hidden winches they are much harder to get to when you're nose is buried.
