White Smoke in Exhaust After TB Clean

Seeing a fair amount of white smoke in the exhaust after an air filter change and TB clean on my 95 3.9l GEMS. Followed the instructions on the can of TB cleaner which involved spraying the butterfly valve and intake WITH the engine running...

The white smoke is not thick but it wasn't present before and there is clearly condensation/water dripping form the tail pipe. Can't smell coolant though.

I've let it run for at least 20 minutes and cycle through a few startups now - still seeing the white smoke.

CEL came on after the TB clean also and is still on.

Initial thought was head gaskets were on their way out (!), but this doesn't make sense seeing as everything was clear before the TB clean.

Any ideas?

I didn't remove nay of the coolant hoses to the TB, but are there any gaskets that keep coolant out out of the TB that might have been "upset" by the cleaning?

Get code from the CEL. I haven't done an upper cleaning since the early 90's but IIRC, it took a good while before the white smoke dissipated completely.

Thanks tom. The drive will have to wait until iv overhauled the brakes and hubs lol

anytime you clean the throttle body or do any chemical upper intake cleaning, you should make a few hard pulls up to 60mph. That'll allow any carbon to get sucked through the combustion chamber and out the exhaust

I would have done brakes first as u need to drive now to clear that out

Yeah hindsight is 20-20.
