Why would they do this?
I am a new 95 D1 owner, not new to owning old cars, and just like old cars there are certain things that are customary in doing, small mods here and there. Now there are couple of these strange things on the car that I don't understand as to why they could have been done, if someone could chime in I would really appreciate it.
1. AC compressor is disconnected from within the engine bay, see pic attached. Is this a common thing? I mean if AC compressor is not working then its not working, why go through the hassle to do this?
2. Has SRS and ABS lights, read that there is some sort of a ecu under the drivers seat, when I checked the black cable with the yellow strip is there however there is no ecu or anything of that nature. Is the intention behind this to not have the air bags deploy?
-Found lots of snail shells near manifold, which is interesting, never had I seen this.
-What's the consensus on safety of these spring spacers
1. AC compressor wire cut.. Is there a specific reason for this?
2. Under the drivers seat.. Is this for a SRS computer or something of that nature?
Shells under manifold. lol

Rodents need to chew constantly the keep their teeth down. Wiring insulation (and sometimes the wires, too) seems to be a favorite chew toy for rodents of all types. Back home it was often porcupines in particular for whatever reason.

Yep. Typical failure point. I'd also have the radiator serviced (re-cored if needed) and t-stat replaced with a Stant 45858
The cooling system on these trucks get old and without that system operating well, they overheat, warp heads, and blow head gaskets.
(translation: Efan = two electric fans that kick on whenever A/C is running and/or coolant temp rises to 212 deg. They are located behind the front grill in front of the radiator.)

Has the efans, seem aftermarket, wired to a separate relay and to temp sensor.

Thank you for the link, Radiator was replaced in May 2020, will get that thermostat just in case, because radiator was replaced at Midas... according to carfax.
