Default Wiring Aftermarket Lights To Factory Switch?

Got a nice set of Hella 500FF lights under the tree! I was curious if anyone knew which colors were what on the factory fog lamp switch? Our factory fogs dont work so I wanted to get rid of them but retain the switch for the new lamps. I've got a spare switch that is pigtailed, just dont know which color wires equal what on the factory switch.

The ETM has the information you want, but can take a bit of head scratching for some to read at first. Fog light wiring is a perfect learning exercise. Better than learning when something critical isn't working and you're under time constraints and no forum access to ask for sanity checks.

You can run Hella 500's off the stock fog switch and wiring provided its in tact.

Use the wiring this already there under the bumper....

Not plug and play, but close to it.

Do you have the stock fog light switch on the dash panel?

I've got the stock switch in place but like a lot of Disos, the factory fogs don't work as something in the wiring is malfunctioning. I'm going to run all new wiring to the new lamps which is no big deal, just prefer to use a factory switch since its already in place. Everything wiring related is a go, just not sure how to connect the new stuff to old switch.

Take a look at Jake's post for wiring diagrams. I'm impatient...planning to use the hella wiring kit with their switch mounted somewhere on the center console...thinking left side, by the screw-on cup holders.

Im following this, As we are getting ready to get front bumper lights and rear LED work lights.

I am wondering if there are any good LED front fog lights worth a look?

So I dug around a bit and came up with this, does this sound right regarding the switch itself?

Pin 1 - 12v (source to be determined)
Pin 2 - tied into wiring for dash lights (so switch illuminates when dash lights are on)
Pin 4 - to #86 on relay
Pin 5 - ground

Fiddled around with things to right and got it all figured out. I wanted to be able to control the lights by themselves without linking to the high or low beam. What I did was ran a 12v switched source that comes on with the ignition to pin 1 of the factory switch. Left pins 2 and 5 alone as they simply illuminate the switch itself. I connected pin 4 to # 86 on the relay included with the kit. Ran the other wires from the relay as directed and now I've got working lights.
