Wood Trim
Anybody got an input on "CLOUDY" wood in these cars? I THINK that they are done like the Rolls, hardwood with a Veneer then LOTS of clear lacquer on that.
If I am correct then 2000 paper and water SHOULD cut the clouds away then respray. This 50th is turning into a show restoration instead of a stump puller :D |
I think you are correct on the veneer highly laq'd.

Yup, lots and lots of clear coat.
I dont know if it can be polished out or not. Keep us posted on what works best. |

Going to check with Constantines Wood Center - Woodworking Supplies and Tools - 1-800-443-9667 This is who my dad used back in the 1960's for anything wood. They will have the special stuff to do the job the correct way I HOPE! Me I would just grad the 2000, water and have at it. |
Would you believe WHITE TOOTHPASTE not the GEL. Soft cloth and polish then RE-WAX the finish. Have a spare piece from the parts Rover will give it a go Saturday and see what happens.
