Default $1,090

Ok everybody, it is official, I have now spent more than $1000 in unexpected repairs on my truck.
Just replaced the fuel pump.
I got a brand new one from AutoZone for $450, it is a Airtex, I was going to rebuild mine but I just did not have the time.
I will rebuild mine this summer and keep it on the shelf for later use.
So here is the break down.
Front wheel bearings-$200.
Rear wheel bearings-$240.
Alternator-$200
Fuel pump-$450.

I have spent quite a bit in preventative maintenance, but that does not count because that is something that must be done if you want your car to last a long time and be trouble free.

Even with the fuel pump going out my truck has NEVER EVER left me stranded.
I have always been able to get her home safe and sound.
I am once again thanking the Rover Gods.

unexpected repairs, what is that on a rover, new floor mats? Nevermind I would expect those to get ruined eventually.

I don't tally my total, thats when i cry. I spent 1k+ on the tranny

Thinkin about it though, the trannsmission was the biggest expenditure- everything else was normal wear items- brakes, tie rods, etc

To me unexpected repairs are things that you know are going to go bad but you cannot plan on.
So yes I knew the alt would go bad, but when?
Same with the fuel pump, you know it will happen eventually.
Floor mats are a luxury item, not needed but nice to have, so they dont count.

I would argue that if you're using your rover properly floor mats are a nesessity. You better budget those in.

I already have WeatherTech floor mats front and rear as well as for the cargo area.
When I rolled up the rear carpet and insulation the floor of the truck was spotless.
