Default “Electrical” whine from Radio - matches RPM

I recently replaced my head unit with a cheap one off amazon to get Bluetooth. I started noticing a whine, that sounds very electrical, if that makes any sense. After fiddling a bit I realized that on Bluetooth or Aux mode, it does this whine that matches the engine RPM.

Any idea what would cause this? I have to turn the sound up pretty high to drown it out.

Bad ground is the cause. Where it is I cannot say

Like from a speaker, or the radio? Or the whole car? Just so I know where to start looking.

Thanks! Maybe I’ll run a jumper from the side of the case to somewhere in the dash and see if that helps.

+1 on the head unit ground. Every aftermarket head unit should be grounded to the chassis. Just run a strap over to one of the many bolts behind the unit. In addition to clearing up the high pitched noise it improves reception of both AM and FM and makes AM actually listenable... I know you were after the bluetooth, but adding the radio info in for other readers.

I have this whine as well with two different radios.
Grounding the radio did not work for me.
I dont hear it with music so much as I do with podcast/talking and its only off throttle when it whines which I find odd.

Maybe running a chassis ground instead of the built in wire harness ground might help - I've just dealt with it as i hate taking the center dash console out... lol
