Default 00 disco possible engine concern

Hello everyone. My girl has been driving my 00 Disco (77k miles) for the last few months & I just drove it tonight & noticed a slight burning smell coming from the engine bay. (I recently did the full 60k inspection - wasnt sure if it was done by previous owner). Anyways, when I checked under the hood & there is a toothpaste looking goo that is over the drivers side of the engine. its underneath the air intake on the flat black section of the engine cover. it's also along the side above the spark plug wires. Obviously, I'm not an expert on my explanations here, but I'm trying to paint the best picture possible. Any ideas on where to start or what could be wrong? The car has been running fine, but I just want to take care of this issue b4 it gets worse. Thanks in advance guys.

Guillermo

Common problem, your t/body pre-heater is leaking coolant. Rover makes an up-dated version of the seals in a new kit.

Dealer part only, and no it is not difficult if you are mechanical in nature. Also use only DexCool coolant.

Thanks Mike. I'm going to pick up the new seals & get the job done. I had already put in the BMW coolant for now, but will change over when i get all the other work done. I figured that its better to have some wrong coolant in there vs. none. Also, I'm going to updating the OME Steering stablilizer as well. Any particular brand to buy? thanks again & you guys rock!!

Old Man Emu stabilizer as well as shocks if needed.
Call Tony to order the stabilizer at 650-365-4145 for about the best price on line.
