Is the PRND321 showing it’s actually in park. They might have removed it & messed with the alignment of it.

I got it towed home found they disconnected the transmission cable from shifter and tranny and left it in neutral. That’s why it rolls Now I have to take the inside apart to try and hook up my tranny cable and my new cdl shifter

anyone know if it easier to hook up the tranny cable from underneath or when I take the consul out

Just joshing. You'll have to go from the top to attach the cable to the shifter end. The transmission attachment point is easy to access from the ground, especially if you have a lift on it

The cable end at the shifter normally isn’t removed from the assembly. It is usually just disconnected at the XYZ switch via a 13mm nut. Then from above the entire assembly lifts out. I’d hope they just disconnected it at the XYZ switch vs up top.

Give it a bit of slack like 1-2mm and see if it shows P, or leave it disconnected & manually put it into P and then cycle the key & see if she’ll start.

When I installed the 04 CDL in my 02 I did a test drive & it wouldn’t start at the gas station. I quickly climbed under it, loosened the 13mm and gave it just 1-2mm and I was good to go.

That’s it I was wondering why it was rolling and it was in drive but what they did was mess around with the cable going to xyz switch. I loosen the nut and moved shifter to park.
Now it starts and I can get the key out.
Anyways Thanks for the help
tomorrow is the cdl linkage install and reassemble

To properly adjust it manually place the Transmission in park, then have your shifter in Park. Pull it snug by hand and let it go back 1-2mm then tighten the 13mm nut and go from there. A small adjustment is usually all that is needed. I've worked on em in all sorts of conditions. Shifter in D but trans really in 3rd or worse. Park & manually set Park at the trans should work every time.
