Default 03 Disco shock help.

I have an 03 Disco. Its time for shocks. The springs are Bearmacht 30mm lift. The shocks in it now are black with no labels. Should i be looking at stock length shocks or +2 shocks?

Thanks!

I have the OME Nitrocharger Sport Shocks and really like them. I had them with a lift and at stock height. Big upgrade over stock. I don't off road though so maybe there is a better choice for that.

Your shocks should match your spring lift, if they are shorter it preloads the the springs so a harder ride and if too long the springs will be soft and at full droop may not be under any load. If I were you I would discuss with an impartial vendor but my GUESS is you need ideally +30mm shocks or failing that +25mm (1") shocks.

The length of the shock is the limiting factor on ride height. If you have rear air suspension SLS you cannot increase the standard ride height without air bag spacers or you'll tear the bags on full droop.

most likely you have stock shocks if they are black with out labels, and you that small a lift.
beware of going with any off road shock as you will lose the ride comfort, also i would not go 2 inch over because the shocks would bottom out.

Firm is ok. My Disco is not a daily driver. We use it for camping and taking the dogs down to swim etc.....

I love my OME's, they just returned from Moab and performed admirably well. I don't know when they were installed, but I'm guessing they have between 50~100k on them and work like a charm.

You can order them by sizes to match your lift.

When I did the 2" lift on my ZJ jeep, I left the shocks stock and the ride to me was MUCH better (the Grand Cherokee is waaaaay to soft for me in stock trim).

The OME shocks are soft, but the general design of the disco is anywhere near as soft as my Grand Cherokee was, and the softer shocks seem to flex better on off-camber terrain.

Hi I run TF 118 & 119 standard shocks on my 2003 TD5 and they are about 25-30mm longer than stock LR's. I run air SLS rear suspension but I wouldn't want to push it any further than the TF shocks. The ride on tarmac highways is about 20% firmer than standard LR shocks but although noticable it is unpleasant. The TF steering damper is significantly more resistant than stock LR though and doesn't self centre the steering after turning a corner. It always obviously feels worse in cold weather or winter.

I guess from your acronym 'BusaRider' you run a SUZUKI GSX1300R HAYABUSA bike, nice bike, I still pedal a Honda CBR600F4 but nearly bought a Busa off a pal.
