Thumbs up '04 t-case(s) for all

So I worked out a deal with a salvage yard today I found on the below website. I am getting a '04 t-case with 40,000 miles and they are throwing the linkage, shifter, and the sticker that goes on the dashboard in for $300 (pickup).

I thought I would share this with everyone as there are literally hundreds of them nationwide.

http://www.car-part.com/ - run a search for "2004" "LandRover Defender Discovery & LR3" "Transfer Case" "USA" and then type your zip code. Then just sort by distance and BAM...

Any LT230 transfer case from a '99-04 will fit in a D2. But you want the '04 with the shifter/linkage for optimal CDL usage.

There are a few differences in nearly every years t/case, usually in the form of seal designs. The 03 and 04 are slightly different in length to match up to the 4.6 but will work.

Default T-Case Interchangability

Mike,

Is that to say that all the t30's are downwardly interchangeable with a 97 DI?

The price sounds pretty good.

Chris,

I am not sure we are understanding your question correctly. Could you rephrase it for us?
