Default 2" ain't enough

Was out wheeling over the weekend, breaking in my new 265/75-16 bfg ko's, and I decided I want more height.

If I add 1" spacers to my TF MD kit w/ the +2" shocks what else besides brakelines (already purchased but not installed s.s. extended lines) will I have to modify?

Adding the 1" spacers should yeild me a total overall lift of ~3". Do I "need" to worry about driveline or alignment issues?

You may need to put some spacers under your front cross member to prevent it from rubbing on the front drive shaft and you will max out your watts linkage movement . You may also want to start looking at adjusted front radius arms to reset your pinion angle as well as stop the back tracking you might get on the highway well as an adjustable pan hard rod to re-center your front diff.

I have a stock suspension but have rear springs on the front of my Disco. What would be the highest coil spring spacer that I could add without having to modify the current set up.

Most people say that you only need to modify things if you go over 3". I would personally agree with that statement.

Thanks, Mike.

It looks like I'm entering in to new territory.

I have been looking at fabbing something up for the cross-member. Whats a safe spacer height in terms of inches to lower the cross member? 1"??1.25"??

You can also remove that crossmember as many have done. You will not find that xmember on other DIs and RRCs

Removing the cross member is a foolish thing to do, what do you then do regarding frame flex, and many people don't do it.

Aaron,
Exactly what Rear spring do you have in the front by brand and part number, kind of hard to help without know this.

I've seen a few DIIs without that drive shaft xmember be fine after several years. You can say it's foolish all you want Mike, I'll always go with facts over some internet opinion.

Mike I put the rear springs off another Disco on the front. To be honest I am looking for about a 1/2 to 1 inch lift. I do not go off road like you but I like to play in the mud once in a while. I have 265/50/20 on now and I had to do a little cutting due to the running boards. When I added the ARB it sagged so that is why I put rear springs on the front but it is not enough. what do you suggest? I was thinking a 1/2 spacer because I think that might give me what I need. I will be adding a steel rear bumper next month due to a hit and run. Is the rear bumper on AB worth it or should I do a Craig Davis? I would like to retain my back up lights so that is where the AB is looking good. I really liked the ARB rear bumper but cannot find it any place.
