PLEASE HELP After she got home i started to check out the car but everything seemed to be back to normal i added almost a gallon of coolant and the temp went back to normal but i am afraid that when she goes to work tomorrow it will do the same also on the bottom of the car the engine and transmission seem to be covered in oil i checked the engine oil and it is perfect but i couldn't find were to check the transmission oil please if any one could help it would be a big relief i dont have much money so taking it to the dealer is out of the question.

The "S" & "M" lights are indicators of a low battery. The cold weather may be getting to it. The truck may also go into "limp mode", only going to 3rd gear as well. Check the battery terminals first for corrosion. The tranny fluid level is checked from the case itself through the fill plug. LR's are known for leaking, just look at Spike555's sig line.

Slight correction, the Mode lights, "S" and "M" are for different shift featured described in your owners manual.
That being said, if you have a low voltage issue, dirty/loose cables, bad battery or alternator and these lights will flash.
I would suggest, if you can start the truck, drive to a local auto parts store and have your battery/alternator tested for free and see what is going on, then get back to us.

Well with the temp issue, if you had to add a full gallon of coolant then you were low on coolant and that will cause your temp gauge to shoot up unexpectedly.
Keep an eye on the coolant level.
Like D2G said, the fil/check plug for the transmission is on the side of the transmission.
You can take it to a quick lube and have them check it for you.
