Default 2002 DII without front Driveshaft and a stupid question

Hello Gurus,

I found out that front driveshaft of my 2002 DII is original (u-joints without grease fitting) and needs to be rebuilt. I took the DS out (Special thanks to Tom for great instructions) so I can have it rebuilt but when I tried to reposition the truck in my driveway without the front DS in place I realized that I'm unable to move it at all! I tried both High and Low and it acts as if I'm in N. I was under impression that I should be able to drive it without front DS (not that I was planning to do so). Is this another 2002 DII CDL feature or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Aaron

An 02 does not have the CDL locking feature even available. And in order to drive without a drive shaft in place you must lock in the CDL. Unavailable on yours.

What a day! Thanks for all replies. Never thought I would be towing my Rover with a Honda Civic Hybrid! Listen learned.

Your Craftsman probably has more torque than Civic Hybrid!
