Default 2003 D2 with High Line ICE

Wanted to see if you guys can answer a audio question. About to replace the stock Amp under the passenger seat with a JBL MS8.

Everything looks good except two connections.

On the C0491 connector (the wiring harness that attaches to the amp), pin 20 goes to the ECU-Self Leveling/ABS (SLABS). What would happen if that is no longer connected to anything? Will I get a ECU or some other type of error?

Also, pin 15 on connector C0491 goes back to the factory head unit and is for the Audio amplifier Spatial imaging input. Connection C0922 pin 9 on the factory head unit. Will the factory radio still operate normally without this connection?

All other connections are accounted for and will work perfectly with the JBL unit.

Thanks for the help?

And a stupid question. WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU CONNECT THE SLABS TO A FREAKING AUDIO AMPLIFIER

On a D2 the SLABS is what provides the vehicle speed signal. So in this case, it allows the sound system to increase the volume when you speed up, to help overcome road noise.

Will it trip a code if disconnected?

I wouldn't think so. Only the High Line has the feature. The slabs is the same for all models, so the base model wouldn't have this connection and the slabs doesn't get angry. I think you'll probably be fine.

Sweet, that was the major one I was worried about.

I'll just snip the spatial imaging line and see if it affects the radio features. I will be able to do time alignment with the JBL anyway, so it will be irrelevant.
