Default 2004 D2 SE 100k miles how much?

How much should one pay for a 2004 D2 with 100k miles? It is well taken care of, and has maintenance records. Its has non oem nav system in it.

They go for 6-8k in Charlotte NC.

I would not pay more than 6.5k.

It's all relative to where you live though I guess.

It depends on where, I've seen them advertised for up to 13K in Orlando, FL... but what they actually sell for is anyone's guess. I'd say shave at least 3K off with today's gas prices.

The owner is asking for 13k negotiable. I think 10k might be reasonable.

The car was bought from a land rover dealership only a few months ago.

Should I be worried about a disco with 100k miles on it?

Where are you located? That makes a huge difference on prices.

My only concern would be why are they selling it so soon after buying it. Did they discover some major repair they need to do, like head gaskets?

I wouldn't pay $10k for an 04 with 100k miles. Maybe $6-8. But that's what they go for private party around here.

100K on a disco engine is not much. There are other things to be concerned about like blown head gaskets, exploding oil pumps, loose liners, cracked blocks and fun stuff like that. Still want to buy one?

Like previous posters have asked before...tell us where you're located...prices vary around the country.

I am in Maryland. The land rover dealership is inspecting the car this weekend. If all checks out, is what is a fair price?

Fair price is a crap shoot, it depends on a lot of factors. Offer 5K and take it from there, you are going to get skinned by the dealer anyway. If the engine makes any tapping or ticking noise then walk away, unless you get it for real cheap. The 2004 engines are real turds and develop a mystery tick that cannot be fixed. Don't believe the "it's only a lifter" crap, it's much more than that. If the engine is dead quiet then you have a good one.

If the engine has or get a ticking sound, does that mean the engine will die out eventually?

When do oil pumps uselly fail? What are the most expensive repairs on this car?

I appreciate everyone's input.
