2004 disco doorlock riddle
For all of you experienced rover mechanics, I have one for you...
Just bought a Bonatti Grey 04 with 42K miles from LA area. Its so clean that it doesn't look like it was ever driven on a gravel parking lot. I'm very excited!! But I'm having issues with my door locks.
I think I have all of the pieces of this puzzle and hope y'all can help me out.
Interior central lock switch works properly- all individual door locks go up and down as they should.
When I lock the drivers door, the horn beeps at me and only the drivers door lock goes down and no alarm light flash.
If I use the central lock button when I get out and lock the drivers door, it still honks at me and the alarm light still does not blink.
When I unlock the drivers door in this situation, all of the individual door locks go up. I'm puzzled...
Also, I have both of the key fobs and neither of them are working. I have replaced the batteries, but still nothing.
Please advise on what I can start my investigation with.
Thanks in advance!

Ok, we need somethingharder than this, to easy.
The horn is NOT supposed to beep at you, when it does that means that there is a door open/not closed tight, the doors will lock, but the alarm will NOT set.
Your remote may have lost its memory, it needs to be re-programmed, only the dealer can do this.
Open and then close ALL the doorsAND the hood, there is also a button under the hood that needs to be depressed by the closed hood, if this button is out of alignment, which can happen, bumped by a mechanic for example...
Once you have done all of that then try and lock it.
If your interior lights go out then it is most likly the button under the hood, it is on the fender, drivers side.
Next question please.

On my 2000 disco the only time that it will honk is if something is open. Go through and open and shut all 5 doors and hood and try it again. It could also be that one of the switches is bad. Give it a try and hopefully someone else will chime in.
