Good, your control unit is fine. either replace your squeaky brake pads or remove the one you have and use a lot of sound deadening material on them. Once the squeak is gone then go have the codes cleared and you will be fine.

I cleaned the brakes with brake cleaner, then put sound dedener on the pads. The Sqeaking is gone now. When I start the vehical the ABS light comes on then goes off after I start driving. As soon as I hit the brakes all three lights come on (ABS,TC,HD). Does this still sound like the pads were causing this problem? The shop is convinced it is the modulator, but you have alot more experiance with land rovers.

ji think you need to go get your codes reset, or mabey, just unplug the battery.

 

Send Willie a PM and see if he has found and corrected the problem. This is one of the reasons I am a strong believer in posting a fix once you find it.
If you have a problem and then fix it, PLEASE post the fix, even if it is months later.

well, looks like I'm stuck going to the stealership - appointment's been made for Oct. 1st, that's the soonest they could get me in. I'll let you know the outcome.

 

Before they fix anything get a second opinion from this forum. These guys know alot.

Look around in your area for an indy shop with a TestBook. They will be able to tell you what fault codes you have and where the bad hardware is. Usually it's an intermittent ABS sensor or shuttle valve problem.
