Default 3 amigos (sorry but searching brings up every new thread on this subject)

Can we have a 3 amigos sticky or some thing. I mean eveeeeeerybody is posting this. Its difficult to find it in the search b/c its so excessive.

Any way I just replaced the FR abs sensor and cleared the all codes. I made it less than a mile b4 3 amigos returned. How do I located the cause of the amigos and fix it ? I do know the downhill assist system was removed after an accident like 2 owners ago. Can I fix this? Yes my beaks are squeling some times/\

Your brakes squealing will trigger the 3 amigos. Take your pads off and spray them really well with disc brake quiet and that should help. Are the 3 amigos staying on constant or do they come on intermittently? If intermittent, do the 3 amigos show up when your brakes squeal? When was the last time you checked the condition of your brake pads and rotors? It may be time for at least new pads if not pads and rotors.

The 1590 code always comes on if the # Amigos is either om or comes and goes. Cure your ABS issue and the 1590 will just go away.

Wow Thanks. So I am guessing then that since I have noticed a vibration when breaking and that I am sure my pads have only @ 50% I should clean replace breaks and rotors. And be all good?

Does any one have a suggestion for pads and rotors? RoversNorth has a pro line set for like $250. Are there others to look at or should I go with a genuine part?

Since I am doing all the breaks is there anything special I should do? Any cleaning or fluids to add or any bleeding??

When you are reading the P1590 you are only reading the code stored in the engine control system. The engine stores this code and it can be cleared but it will reset as soon as you drive the vehicle if you do not read and cure your ABS codes.

I would not spend any money on pads and rotors if you don't know what is really wrong with your ABS system. You may be just throwing money away, not getting it properly fixed and being unsafe about the brakes.

I would find a place that can read the ABS system codes before doing anything else.
