Double check that your plug wires are seated correctly.
You can return those Advance plug wires and get your money back.

Make sure all of your plugs are tight too, one may have come loose after it got hot.

yep, one of the plugs came loose. The engine idles a whole lot better, ill see how my mileage does when i drive down to wilmington tomorrow.

on a side note, while i was out there replacing the plugs, i had several people come up and ask me what i was doing, when i showed them the +4 plugs i was replacing, they all told me how they had horrible experiences with them, including drop in gas mileage... so i'm pretty confident that my gas mileage should go back up.

i guess you were right spike about some engines not liking the +4s. At least i have the magnecor wires in there.

Spark plugs are a hit and mis thing I have found.
Some engines just like cheap plugs.
I use Iridium plugs in my truck and she like them alot.
They require less power than normal spark plugs but deliver a bigger spark.
So, so depending on how you feel and your budget you might want to consider those, or not, its all up to you.
I used Autolite Iridiums this time, Denso last time.

thanks, i might explore that option next time around. I just hope the gas mileage goes back up to 15 in town, 20 highway. Sucks driving around at 6mpg, it's put a big hurtin on my wallet.

so i had the faulty o2 sensor replaced, it was the first one on the driver side, and on the way home i get the CEL light codes are:
p1158
p1316

I don't know what p1316 is, but isn't the p1158 o2 related? i really hope not, this is starting to get aggravating.

Is it possible my engine doesn't like the magnecor wires as well? It didn't like the +4 plugs, so maybe i'm better off with the cheaper ones. I never had any problems whatsoever with the other wires until i put in the +4s....

P1138 H O2 FAILED TO SWITCH TO LEAN, BANK B
P1316 MISFIRE CAUSED EXCESSIVE EMMISSION

Bank "b" is the passenger side........you may (should) replace that one also as the ecu may have a hard time computing why the difference between the 2 sides .......the difference between a new sensor on one side and an older one on the other.

I'm not throwing a p1138 though, it's a p1158.

What's going on with the p1316? I'm not showing any other misfire codes?

Not a true statement and certainly no written information tha 7 mm plus wires will foul Plus 4's.

So i switched out the magnecor wires for advance auto wires, erased the codes, and drove a buddy to goldsboro (120 mile round trip) The CEL came back on, this time just a p1158 and a p1158 pending code came back on. So my disco didn't like the +4s or magnecor wires, lol. I have no use for the magnecor wires, so if somebody wants them i'll mail em to you. I doubt they're faulty, so one of y'all can have at em. they're only a couple months old.
